Can I bring USD to satisfy the minimal fund requirement?

I am moving to Canada from US. So may I bring USD in cash to satisfy the minimal fund requirement?
For example, if they require 20000 CAD, can I bring 15000 USD in cash when I cross the border, considering the exchange rate. Would that be accepted?

Avoid carrying more than 10k CAD in cash. US bank statements showing the minimum fund should be sufficient. They need proof of funds, not cash. In fact they’ll be suspicious if you are carrying so much cash.

There’s no need to bring too much cash. Irrespective of the fact that you can carry millions of $$ as long as you declare them, why would you. it’s risky.

Probably better to carry few k for initial expenses, rent, depositing in bank account etc. and wire the rest later.
