Consequences of company acquisition on PR in process

I submitted application for PR in October 2018 and it’s in background check right now. At the time I was employed with an employer (since 2016). However, the company got acquired and the acquisition was completed on Jan 1, 2019. I’ve signed an offer letter from the company that acquired us. How would it affect the background check process? What steps do I need to take?

Appreciate any suggestions.

Technically you should be fine since the acquisition happened after you had submitted all the documents. However, if you want to provide this information to CIC, you can raise a CSE and mention about the acquisition and if possible, attach the new offer letter.
