How lottery from pool works?

Hi,

I got about 420 CRS score when checked online. As I m going through other posts, cut-off score is 441. Are there any chances of my application going through?

I m also aware that cut-off score varies from time to time. If application is not selected for the lottery, it would be moved to next pool. How long this would move to next pool, if an application is not selected in a pool?

Firstly unlike the H1B this is not a lottery. Its a cut off based invitation. If your your score is above cut off you get the ITA if your score is same as cut off it is based on the first come first serve hence they publish the tie breaker criteria as well.If you dont get picked ylu move to next round of selection. Your application is valid for 1 year from the time of creation.
