Hi - I am planning to buy a new car. In future, if I want to go to US, can I drive the Canada car or would I need to import it / register in US. Thinking for both short-term (say 1-3 months) and long term (may be more than 1 year). Mostly have seen folks buying in US and importing. Wondering how the registration, insurance stuff, etc. work other way around for above scenarios.
Temporary visits are fine, permanent you have pay import duty and register. I am pretty sure different States will have different rules. So, you have to research before you move.
