Decision Time - Moving to Vancouver

It totally depends on the company and the team. Some companies have distributed team and they are okay for team members to work from different locations/countries. While some companies have teams dedicated to a particular locations. I would ask recruiters about it. You can also ask that question to the interviewers and get a sense of it .

Other option is if you have a year or two, you can start working in Bay Area and then take internal transfer. You will need to do your homework on what companies have engineering teams in Canada and the US.

Yes, thank you. I’ve been working in the Bay Area for a couple of years and I am seeking an internal transfer. Unfortunately, going fully remote is not guaranteed at this time, so I’m looking for better ways to get a US-based employer before I move.

When you got your job in Vancouver, did you interview with the Canadian team?

Yes I interviewed for a Canadian team but I had the option to move with the job I had at that time.

Hello I am Indian citizen, we have valid COPR for me, my husband(Indian) and son(US citizen). Planning to travel to Canada by Air. We were not asked to retake any medicals and PCC, but we took an Upfront medical exam.to be on safe side when landing. Also, i made reservations for our stay. I would like to know did anyone being an Indian or any non- US citizens, traveled from US with valid COPR to activate/get their PR cards. Please let me know your experience. Thank you
