I am planning to apply for Canada PR along with my spouse through Express Entry. I am sure that even if I start the process now, I won’t get the PR before March-April, 2019. We are Indian citizens. My wife holds admission offer in LLM programme from York University as an international student for January 2019 intake. The problem is that she will have to apply for Student Permit by October 2018 and start the course from January 2019. My question is whether her student permit will hamper our PR? Can she change her status from international student to PR holder in between the course? And should I apply for PR and travel visa simultaneously or travel visa first time and then PR, as I was not to be able to visit her even if I don’t have a PR status in the meantime?
