A friend of mine just moved to Toronto on PR from India and looking for Job, please help, following is the profile -

  • Engineer (IT) + MBA (HR)
  • Total of 7 years of industry experience
  • 5+ years of experience post MBA as a Business Partner HR and Recruiter
  • Worked with Infosys Ltd and Deutsche Bank Group
  • Vast experience in Performance Management, Rewards & Recognition, Employee Relations, HR Analytics, Employee Engagement & Recruitment.

Looking for an HR opportunity in Toronto.

Would be useful if he could make it for this event tomorrow. Startup Open House is a once in a year event to go visit various startups in downtown Toronto and speak to the people working there. He will have a chance to visit big boys like Slack, Facebook, Shopify maybe Linkedin. Great chance to network and ask about HR positions.

I would think HR is one of those areas where “Canadian Experience” probably comes into play since you are dealing with people issues and local regulations around employees which are quite complex and strict in Canada. While HR is outside my area of knowledge I’d be happy to speak with him and see if I can be of any help.
