Investments in Canada

Is there anyone who has invested in Canada(Vanguard, Stocks etc) with PR card without physically being in Canada (Eg: Presently staying in USA)?

Can’t anyone in the world invest in any Canadian securities?

Yep we can but that was not the intent of this Q.
Since we had a couple of months to move to Canada, This question was specifically for getting a headstart before physically being in Canada.
