Oh wow that’s good. What about curious_abt85? Ur score plz

Are there any extra conditions for residency if you get a provincial nomination. Can you still wait 2-3 years before you move to Canada. Are there any other conditions?

You have to live in the province for up to 2 years but even this is debatable and invalid if you go by the Canadian charter of rights. But since we are talking about ONIP here it’s almost a non issue since Ontario is an amazing place to live with tons of jobs.

Yes your PR is not different with a PNP you have to satisfy the same residency requirements to renew your PR which is 2 out of 5 years. I .short you can wait.

My score is 423 and I am surprised why I am not getting invitation for OINP :frowning:

Oh ok… No problem. Ontario actually has sent the NOIs to scores from 446 till 433 and is yet to go down. So tht is y u did not get the NOI yet…

Hi Acheema,
Do you have French language skills? Do you have a job offer?

No and no.
My CRS is 438 and I am a software developer.

As per this table, under HCP stream I was invited for being between 433-441.

You should get NOI as well if you’re in a similar range in the next OINP NOI round.

Hello All,
I’m just starting to explore on Canadian PR as I lapsed through all chances of H1B lottery.
Can you pl tell how OINP nomination is beneficial for PR? My understanding is once you’re in express entry pool because of CRS score, you’ve to wait until you get picked up. Is OINP something to boost your CRS score further? and that to maximize your chance of pick up

@kshankar88, have you tried using the CRS calculator (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp) to check what your approximate CRS score would be? If it is higher than 440 points, you might be able to get selected in the Express Entry draw without going for PNP. If it less than the recent cutoffs, you can consider the PNP option but again getting a PNP depends on your score and other criteria that the province may have set. If you do get OINP, you will get an additional 600 points added to your existing CRS score and will make it through the next cutoff.

I would advise you to check your CRS score first and proceed based on that.

@acheema congratulations!! That’s fast. Do you have any idea about how often OINP issues invites for HCP? Asking because you’ve probably been following OINP for some time.

They don’t announce it in advance.
This page has the updates when they are announced:

Hi @acheema. Apart from EE score, NOC code and whether Ontario or All provinces is selected, is there any criteria that is considered for issuing OINP NOI?
The reason I am asking is because the score range mentioned for OINP draws (433-441) would have had at least 6000 candidates and majority of those would have met the other 2 criteria as well. But only ~500 NOIs were being issued.

Also, although spouse work experience do not contribute to EE score, do you know if it is a contributing factor for OINP or any other PNP?

Scroll down to April and read down from there.
They are not being aggressive in the program at large and especially for us in the ‘general quota’.
Mostly going for Job offer or French skills.

Yes. That has been the trend since end of February. But my question is regarding the process that they employed in Jan and Feb when they issued the NOIs for general HCP stream. Do you know if there was any other criteria that they looked at apart from these three - EE score in a certajn range, NOC code and whether Ontario is selected as the preferred province?

Guys, I have one question. Will a 2 yr work permit in canada be considered a Job offer for the OINP program. Note that I received the permit just now bur have not yet travelled. My CRS is only 401.

You must have a full-time and permanent job offer from an Ontario employer to qualify.
