Phone Call from CIC?

Hi All,

I live in the United States. Today I got a blank call a number from Ontario, Canada. I have submitted my APR this month. Do CIC ever call the applicants? Or just like USCIS, mail/ Profile update is their only mode of communication?

How do we identify if call is from Ontario…what is the area code
