Recieved PR as minor several years ago, never stayed in Canada. Can I re-apply for PR?

Hello all!

So when I was a minor, my parents went through the Canadian PR process, and we all received our PR cards. We traveled to Canada to pick them up and everything. However, this was around the time of the '08 crash, and eventually my parents decided against immigrating at the time. Therefore, none of us have satisfied the residency requirement to renew the PRs.

Today I am looking into immigrating to Canada by myself, and I believe my score will be good, based on the estimation from the CIC website. I wanted to know if my existing PR will cause any issue at this junction. Do I need to relinquish my existing PR prior to re-applying? If I apply now without doing so, will the old PR get auto-revoked?
