I am looking at craigslist for apartment / townhome rentals and I see that most landlords (unsurprisingly) require a good credit history with a soft check. From your experience, has it been possible to pass this requirement with a copy of the US credit reports for their first rental in Canada?

Find a realtor who is willing to work with you. I found one via Realtor.com since the rental apartment posted there was by a realtor.
The realtor spoke with me on phone to confirm I’m real, and I explained I can provide credit karma reports from US (equifax Canada report didn’t work for my profile for some unknown reason).
Not sure if my approach works if you go directly to owner posted listings in Kijiji/Craigslist.
