Separate Applications for married couple

I am new to the process and I wanted to know if a married couple can apply jointly or need to apply separately for Canadian PR. I am a software engineer, my wife is a banking professional and we both work in the SF Bay area. I have a Masters degree from the U.S and my wife has one from the U.K. Apologies if this question has already been answered. I would appreciate a link to the forum topics that pertain to my question. Thanks

As far as I know whoever gets the maximum CRS score out of the two of you should be the primary applicant and the other can be secondary (both of you should be on the same application rather than two separate applications). This way, if everything goes well, both of you will become PRs at same time and you’ll have a higher chance of clearing the cutoff.
