Background Check taking more time than usual

Many congratulations!

FSW - Canada Inland applicant.

My AOR was Jan 15 and I passed my medicals in Feb. During March the status was changed to BG in progress. And that’s it. No more updates from then. My status is currently showing as 35 days. But I’m not confident that 35 days timeline serve anything.

I called the IRCC customer agent and she mentioned that my criminality check was completed on April 1st week and my eligibility review and other BG is in progress From April.

Please help me around how I can push my file to move forward? My file was received and being processed in Sydney NS.

You can try ordering GCMS notes. Note that currently a lot of cases are taking more than 6 months.

You can get gcms notes form applygcms.com

@bhaumikm @mrandmrs
How much time does it usually take to process, post submitting the PR?

Took us 13 days to receive the CoPR and passports once they were submitted at the local VFS office.

Is there a contact number that I can call to IRCC new Delhi office. As my papers have been transferred to new Delhi and When I call the local office in Canada is not giving me any information on my application status.

Thank you,

Hello Guys. Need some help. So I received an email from CPCO-FinalRequest / CTDO-DemandeFinale (CIC) IRCC.CPCO-FinalRequest-CTDO-DemandeFinale.IRCC@cic.gc.ca with the subject Ready for Visa / Prêt pour Visa

and with the below contents in BOLD

Date: June 20, 2019

UCI: XXXXXXXX

XXXXXXXX

Application: YYYYYYYYYY

YYYYYYYYYY

Dear MY NAME:

YOUR IMMIGRANT VISA(S) APPEAR(S) READY TO BE ISSUED, IF THERE HAS BEEN NO CHANGE IN YOUR FAMILY CONFIGURATION. IF THERE HAVE BEEN ANY CHANGES, PLEASE CONTACT OUR OFFICE BEFORE PROCEEDING.

PASSPORT(S)

As of May 1, 2018, all original documents, including passports, must be submitted via the VAC.

Please see: http://www.vfsglobal.ca/canada/ and follow the instructions under the

“Passport Transmission Services” section.

The visa(s) will be valid until the expiry of your medical results or until the expiry of your passports, whichever is earliest. As the validity of your visa(s) has been already established and is limited to a fixed date, it CANNOT be extended under any circumstances. We therefore urge you to read and follow carefully the instructions outlined in this letter without delay.

All these followed by more information regarding passport photo sizes and other info. However, when I checked my express entry profile on, there was only an update on my BG check which now says:
We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information.
And the Final Decision still says:
Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made.

So I am not sure what this means. Also, I can find the “Passport Transmission Services” section as mentioned earlier in the email on theri website to check the next steps I need to take.

Kindly help.

That is expected. It gets updated only after your passports get stamped.

Which country are you applying from? I selected India to check for options and I see a section on the page named " SUBMIT PASSPORT AND OTHER DOCUMENTS". You would have to use that for the country you are applying from.

I am applying from Ghana and when I select Ghana, I can see a section which says:

SUBMIT YOUR PASSPORT

Have you been asked to submit your passport at the VAC?

So I guess that is what I have to follow for further instructions?

Can I safely assume that this is the PPR email I have been waiting for months? If so, what is strange is that my application went from IP1 to PPR directly.

Here’s the screenshot for Ghana. I have marked the appropriate section in the image below.

Yes, I was asked to submit at my local VFS centre.

Correct.

Again, this is not uncommon. For some people, the status in the account does not get updated and they receive the PPR email directly. Don’t worry, it is legit. Congratulations!

Hello All, I got the remedicals information sheet for my kids after the remedicals are done. Should i upload this sheet through webform and let them know that remedicals are done or is there any other place i need to upload and let the CIC know?

Through the webform.

I applied as FSW-Outland with one dependent (my spouse).
Below is our timeline from AOR to PPR:
AOR: 24.10.2018
MEP: 22.11.2018
IP1: 23.11.2018
PPR: 20.06.2019

We waited until 6 months before applying for the GCMS notes. Applied twice after that and had no useful update apart from update on Passing Medicals and having no negative or critical remark in the notes. The notes also revealed that our application was last accessed by an officer in Dec 2018. Applied the third time again and after a week or so (yet to receive our 3rd GCMS notes), we received the email for PPR. Our application never moved for IP1 to IP2, but directly from IP1 to PPR.

We have now submitted our passports and waiting for the visas and COPR.

But for now relieved. Any links or suggestions for pre landing preparations will be appreciated. Best of luck everyone, keep hoping, best is yet to come.

Hi Guys,

Wanted to get your opinion on this:

I am a single applicant, Nov 8th AOR, currently in the US.

Didn’t hear anything back from CIC after MEP (Jan 4th). Then last week got a request to submit my fingerprints, nearly 7 months after AOR.

I am going to get that done this week since you need to get an appointment now instead of just walking in.

Anyone else in a similar situation? Does this mean that some progress has been made on my application or is it another delay tactic?

Thank you.

Hello, did you get a request from your VO to do your remedicals or you just went ahead to do it without a request due to your medicals expiring?
