Hi, I need some information on the FBI PCC?

  1. What should be selected for Reason for Request? Is it Live in foreign country?
  2. I am from India? So in the eDO form should I only be selecting India from the drop down menu for place of birth? I couldn’t find option of including city.
  3. Is SSN required? I do have a current SSN.
  4. Do I use Attn/Care of? I think it should be Attn: as it would be my name, as I am the owner of the residence. Pls advice
  5. Where can I get fingerprinting done as I am neither a US citizen or GC holder. Pls advice locations in San Francisco/ San Jose for fingerprinting.
  6. Is live scan applicable for Canada PR process or do we need only ink based fingerprinting?

I got my Fingerprinting done at Identogo. You need to take an appointment and it takes less than 20 minutes.

Once the card was mailed, there was no update for 12 days ( Was wondering if it is due to government shutdown here in US).
I emailed them after 12 days, and within 3 hours I got my updated report.

So in case you havent heard from them after mailing, try sending email to check status.

Update: I got my email copy after 3 days of mailing them the fingerprint card. That too on a Sunday night!

I am currently residing in USA and my visa expires on 15th April When is the best time to apply for PCC from FBI.I am planning to move to India on 15th April and continue the rest of my process.

  • IRCC states that police certificates are typically valid for 1 Year from the issuance date.

  • FBI PCC hardly takes 2-4 days.

hi all,

My fingerprint card was delivered on Friday (10/25) sometime. I logged in to the https://www.edo.cjis.gov/#/ link a few minutes back and it still says ‘INCOMPLETE - Missing fingerprint card’

What would be the timeframe before which I should reach out to the identify@fbi.gov email and ask for a status update?

The turnaround time seems to be varied even from the thread here, hence my question.

I did choose to get a hard copy of the report as well, but it looks like this should not have any impact on receiving an email / soft link. Please let me know if my understanding is correct.

I just received the automated email - PCC from FBI is done.

We also used Identogo, and had a good experience there as well.

A couple of days back I got the FBI report. I filled in an online application and went to a nearby USPS location to get my finger prints taken. I got the report within 5 mins of completing the process at USPS. Did I make any mistake? Reading the forum it seems like people usually get their report in 3-5 business days.

Any help on my previous question will be greatly helpful. I am also confused if USPS can be used for obtaining finger prints. Can anybody please provide any inputs to resolve the confusion.

Experiences detailed vary from person to person. If I recall, i believe I got mine back in about 3-5 days after the fingerprints were sent via UPS.

As long as you got the FBI report (pdf or in paper) and all cleared, then you are good.
