I want to apply for Canadian Immigration and I have a recent Masters degree from Australia. I do not fulfill the NOC requirement for 4011 University professors and lecturers. I have worked as a lecturer for four years in Pakistan, after my Masters degree from Pakistan (16 years education, which is equivalent to Bachelors degree overseas)
Whereas in NOC 4011 , employment requirement includes
A master’s degree in the field of specialization is required for university lecturers
I had a Bachelors degree (16 years of Education) when I taught at University in Pakistan. So does that mean I cannot apply for this profession?
Now I have 18 years of education after finishing my Masters from Australia in 2019. So, I am unsure whether I am eligible or not, because i finished my 18 years of education after my work experience?

Hi Guys…
Currently I’m in a middle of process of finalizing my EE profile. One thing which is consistently bothering me is selecting the right NOC Code.

I have a BE and MSC degree in Petroleum Engineering but currently I’m working as a Assistant Manager Operations is Retail Industry and my Job duties are not related to my education. Therefore, I fall in 0621 NOC i.e. Retail and wholesale trade managers. There’s a NOC exist for Petroleum Engineer but since I do not have any experience in petroleum industry, I believe I should not go for NOC 2145 Petroleum Engineers…Is this the right thing to do??

Secondly, I’m also associated with teaching in a University as a Visiting Lecturer. Should I mention the given below NOC in my profile;
4011 University professors and lecturers

Seeking your advice and guidance.

Hello Mov North Community!

I am a Chemical Engineer working in a biotech startup as a Business Development associate. I know most of you are from the tech world and this might be outside your expertise, taking a shot with posting on this group.

As a Business Development associate, I am working with internal technical teams, Business Development Director, and larger organization to project manage by:
a) coordinating/tracking activities in service of project milestones (e.g., keep track of in-flight experiments and outcomes vs. milestone requirements),
b) preparing communications materials for client (e.g., concise report of progress made/dashboard for quarterly meetings)
c) surfacing and characterizing risks/dependencies for successful project execution
d) developing in-depth knowledge of the market, industry, and potential clients in Biotech, Food, Agriculture

My sense is that my NOC code should be either 0125 or 0211. However my title doesn’t include a manager (i.e. I am not a manager). Thoughts?
I have tried emailing the NOC Unit in Canada but did not get much direction from them.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Hello Fam,

Trust we are all well? Please I have a question concerning picking NOC , I’ll be grateful for your insight.

I intend to use NOC 4161 Natural and applied science policy researchers, consultants and program officers. The lead statement is perfect for what I perform, however the duty part is a bit tricky.

https://noc.esdc.gc.ca/English/noc/Profile.aspx?val=2&val1=4161&ver=16

In this NOC I did the 2 only duties listed under the heading ’ science policy and program officers '. Is it safe to use this as my NOC or must a person also perform duties listed under other sections including ’ Ergonomists or human factors specialists ', ’ Occupational or industrial hygienists ', ‘Science policy and program officers’ etc before he/she can use this NOC?

Please see NOC duties below.

Hello,

My undergrad degree is in Mechanical Engineering after which I joined an IT Company as a Systems Engineer. But my job duties listed according to the company closely matches to NOC Code 2171-- Information systems analysts and consultants. I have almost 3 years of experience with this company. It would be great if someone could help me with the below questions.

a) Since My undergrad degree is different from the educational requirements of NOC Code 2171 (this mainly involves computer science engineering), will it be a problem if I put my undergrad graduation date as date of qualification?

b) Since my Job title is a Systems Engineer, will it be a issue if I select NOC code 2171, or should I go for something else.

Plaese help.

Regards,

Jai

Hello,
I recently got job with the title of ‘electrical technician associate’. I asked HR person for NOC code and she said we dont know. Can anyone help me to find NOC code? Does it fall in Category B ?

Hey guys,

I have experience as a computer programmer(A) for 2 years 10 months and system admin(B) for 1 year 8 months in total.

So for this question in particular “In the last 10 years, how many total years of skilled work experience do you have?
It must have been paid, full-time (or an equal amount in part-time), and in only one occupation (NOC skill type 0, A or B).” Should I choose 3+ years totaling the experience or just 2 years 10 months which is the highest?

Thanks for your help.

Hi, I’ve worked under same noc code 6235 (FSR) but in 2 different designations (job promotion). Now my current manager is giving me 2 reference letters for 2 designations. My question is that most of the job duties of these 2 letters are exactly the same i.e. 6 common job duties in both letters out of a total of 10. Will that create any problem. If yes, any way out?

PS- My manager is friendly to me.
