Passport Return from CPC Ottawa

we had a similar experience.
I simply raised a web forum and attaching the FedEx delivery confirmation receipt and explaining the situation. I got an email after 3 days from IRCC stating that they received our passports.

I have not received my passport back yet.
I got the ready for Visa mail on 5th March.
Mailed the PP on March 21st and the courier tracker displayed that it reached CIC on March 23rd.
Bit worried. Will contact them via the web form on Friday if I don’t hear anything by then.

Guys- received my passport back today with PR Visa stamped. Applied from USA. Sent passports on 10 march.

Thanks ! Me too provided them the Tracking number. IRCC came back saying our passports were received.

Congrats! Please advise if extended validity was granted? in the present scenario, looks like travel is restricted/not recommended?

No there is no extended validity given. CIC website says we can travel but need to get landing appointment over the phone first.

Approved permanent resident applicants with expired or expiring documents

If we already approved your permanent resident application but you can’t travel to Canada before your documents expire, use the Web form to tell us why you can’t travel.

Once it’s possible for you to travel, use the Web form to let us know so we can tell you what to do next.

Thanks! I recall IRCC’s tweet mentioning that travel to Canada for “immigration services” is treated as non-essential? am I misinterpreting this?

I think Landing appointment will explain you how and when to land in Canada.

When anyone says “landing appointment”, it usually refers to inland applicants (already in Canada) who need to visit an IRCC center in Canada. Based on what I heard these appointments are the ones that can be held by phone.

For outland applicants:

Definition of essential travel: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/coronavirus-covid19/permanent-residents.html#fn1

yes you correct, Landing appointment is for inland only.
You must have a plan to quarantine for 14 days when you arrive. this is mandatory, even if you have no symptoms** . If you don’t have a plan, you should not travel to Canada. So I think its good to wait for sometime.

Thanks! going back to the original discussion, has anyone had luck contacting IRCC/CPC? Our passports are still with the CPC (Ottawa). Looks like a couple of folks have had their passports shipped within a few days after their application was approved. Is webform the only means to reach CPC?

Hi Everyone,

My case got aproved yesterday.
FSW Outland
PPR date March 12th 2020
Passport delivered March 23rd 2020
Date approved May 6th 2020

return tracker is not activated yet.

I have a questions regarding traveling from US to Canada. So, I will be having an internal job transfer done so I would need to travel to join my new job. And as per CBSA traveling for work is considered essential. But traveling for immigration is considered non-essential.
So i’m not sure if I will be allowed to cross the US-Canada border. Anyone in same situation or any recommendations on what I should do.

Thank you!

Hi guys!

First I want to thank you all for the info shared.
I have sent my passport to Ottawa from Toronto on March 16th, and it got delivered on March 19th.
I still haven’t heard anything back yet.
If the pace continues as @imm-can shared with us, I hope to receive mine next week or so.
I will keep you posted.
Thanks again

Our timeline is identical. I had sent my parents passports. Anxiously awaiting for the return envelope.
