Submitting passport for PR visa stamp

if biometrics are not required, then just leave it unanswered. for infant, I did send an extra consent form signed by me.

Why the consent form and the fees aren’t mentioned in the Request letter?

In the request letter, CIC has just mentioned a link to the website for VFS New York, but nowhere was it written that we have to follow those guidelines. Also, the VFS NY guys want us to send my child’s original passport (she is a US citizen). The request letter clearly mentioned that they won’t need passports from Visa exempt countries(only a photocopy would suffice).
I would suggest to just call and confirm with VFS NY first before sending any documents.

Thank you so much for the information. One more question did your letter from CIC mentioned that you could only send pre-paid USPS envelopes?

Yes, the return envelope must be from USPS (greater than 7.35 dollars) considering the fact that they have to send back the passports and COPR documents.

Thanks. The VFS agent also confirmed that we must leave the biometrics page blank.

The CIC request letter stated that the processing of our application appears complete and that the passports must be submitted within 30 days to VFS Newyork. They just mentioned the address of NY center and the hyperlink to website. Other clauses in the letter were standard (photo specifications, list of visa exempt countries, passport validity, etc). I think they should have been more specific in the letter. I had gone through many forums and I understood that only passports, photos, annexA and return envelope has to be sent. I guess this is applicable if we are sending documents directly to Ottawa consulate and not to a VFS center.

VFS New York asked us to submit the following documents for COPR processing:

TTS Consent forms (2 per person)
Money order/Cashier’s Cheque for 19.90 USD per person
Original passports (for US citizens as well)
2 Photos per person ( one with name,DOB and details of photo studio)
CIC Request Letter with signed Annex
Pre-paid USPS return envelope
Contact Information - just one page with your Name, Email , phone number, UCI# so that VFS can contact you if required.

Can’t thank you enough!!!

Hello,

Does anyone know what is the average processing time taken by VFS New york for passport stamping?

Thanks

I got mine 7 business days after it was received by VFS new york.

I received an email requesting my passport on 23rd August 2019. I have applied for PR from INdia I read the email multiple times to make sure I got everything right. There was nothing regarding Annex A or B in the email. The vfs office did mention Annex B, but said it “might be required”. I went to the VFS office and other thatn the passport, pictures, the PPR email and a vfs consent form, they didn’t ask for anyhting else. Can someone answer the following questions?

  1. There was no mention of any annexe in the PPR email. Have I made a mistake?
  2. I don’t know what Annex A or B are. Can someone please throw some light on it?

Annex A should be attached as a PDF document at the bottom of the email that you have received.

What is annexe A and where do I find it?

As I mentioned, it should be an attachment with the PPR email.

If not then raise a case related ticket and request for Annex A. They should be able to forward that to you

Try opening the PPR email in a new window (browser) instead of the email client.
The PPR email is long and the email client may suppress the information at the end of the email. You could see the whole email in the browser, and notice a table (that is annex A) at the very end of the page.

Checked the entire email multiple times, no attachment found

Did this too, no sign of any attachment/table

My cic account still says background check in progress. Can I raise a case related query when the status in my account has not changed to PPR/background check complete? If yes, would be great if you could tell me how I can go about it.
